Bondi Beach, Sydney

While Bondi Beach isn’t one of the most beautiful, peaceful, or remarkable beaches in Australia, no list of top Aussie beaches would be complete without it. Why? Because as far as beaches go, this one is about as iconic as they come.

Sure, it’s crowded and a bit hectic, but Bondi Beach is the perfect place to soak up Australia’s uniquely laid-back and fun atmosphere. Lizard Island, Great Barrier Reef

Looking for a tropical getaway to kick back in? They don’t get much better than Lizard Island in north Queensland, which sits in the world famous Great Barrier Reef. Lizard Island is home to no less than 23 white sand beaches, and each is as beautiful and pristine as the last. Here, you’ll be able to relax in some of the world’s most beautiful surroundings, shaded by swaying palm trees, and watching the turquoise sea lap the shoreline.

If you’re looking for wild adventures, then scuba diving or snorkeling from Lizard Island is something which features on more than its fair share of bucket lists. The ocean here is teeming with life - from brightly coloured fish, to astoundingly beautiful corals, and much, much more besides. With its luxury hotels, elegantbeach bars, and general atmosphere of utter paradise, it’s no wonder this spot is a favourite getaway among the rich and famous.

Byron Bay, New South Wales

For many people, Byron Bay still conjures up images of a free love idyll, overrun with hippies and various other subcultural movements. While that contingent still has a presence in this part of Australia, it’s by no means the long and short of the scene here anymore. Whether you see yourself as a countercultural individual or someone simply on the hunt for a great set of beaches, you’ll doubtlessly find plenty to love in Byron Bay regardless.

As theeasternmost part of Australia, chilling on Byron Bay feels like you’re spending time on the edge of the world. The horizon stretches out into the distance, as as you sip your cocktails at one of its many stylish bars, you can really get a sense of utter tranquility in this beautiful spot. The main beach is about as good as you’ll find anywhere in eastern Australia, and offers plenty of opportunities for sunbathing, swimming, water sports and snorkeling… a real Aussie gem, and one not to miss!

Wineglass Bay, Tasmania

Only a couple of decades ago, Tasmania was seen as something of a backwater, and most certainly wasn’t on the tourist trail. Oh, how things have changed! Today, Tasmania is the hippest and most up-and-coming part of Australia, and this small island is booming as a result of its flawless natural beauty, incredible food and wine scene (seriously, the sushi on Tasmania is probably the best outside of Tokyo), and unbelievably stunning beaches.

The best beach on Tasmania is - hands down - Wineglass Bay. It’s become something of a poster child for the island as a whole, thanks to its unique shape, white sands, a deep turquoise waters. Thankfully still unspoilt, and relatively quiet despite the hype, it’s the perfect place to lie back, relax, and know that life is good.

75 Mile Beach, Fraser Island

Imagine spending time on a golden sand beach which stretches for as far as the eye could see, and where there’s never any danger of finding a secluded spot all for yourself. As the name suggests, 75 mile island is a genuine natural phenomenon, and one of the longest expanses of sand bay in the world.

One of themain draws of 75 Mile Beach is its stunning variety of beautiful landscapes. Along its length, you’ll find sands of every colour and hue imaginable, set against a backdrop of gentle dunes, dense forest, swaying palms and dramatic rocks. When it comes to swimming, there are few better spots found anywhere in Australia… no wonder it’s quickly becoming a favourite for beach lovers worldwide.

Main Beach, Noosa Queensland

When you head to a part of Australia known as the sunshine coast, you should have a pretty clear idea of what to expect. Nonetheless, it’s hard not to be bowled over by the sheer beauty and spectacle of Main Beach in Noosa - it really is a breathtaking stretch of sand, and the kind of place we love to stroll around in our stylish swim shorts.

You’ll find plenty of trendy bars and great cafes in Noosa, each serving top quality local wines and some of the freshest and most varied seafood found anywhere in Australia. Great for swimming, brilliant for improving your surf skills, and superb for people watching… this is one beach we simply can’t get enough of!

Cable Beach, Broome

Western Australia is still the underdog when it comes to this country, and a part of the world which doesn’t get the press it deserves. The perfect example of this would be Cable Beach - it’s a phenomenal place to spend some time, and one of the most beautiful beaches found anywhere on earth. Despite this, it’s relatively unexplored and undiscovered… which is probably no bad thing if you love a bit of solitude and tranquility on your beach holidays.

At CableBeach, you can watch camels lazily crossing the sands, and whales, dolphins, and other denizens of the deep swimming out among the waves. However, the main draw for Cable Beach has little to do with the sea, and everything to do with the sky: this is a part of Australia which is regarded as having the best sunsets found anywhere in the country. With a glass of local sparkling wine in your hand, you can watch the sky catch fire with a thousand colours, before night falls and the incredible display of stars comes out. Utterly romantic, completely awe-inspiring, and absolutely unforgettable.

Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Island

If you haven’t checked out the Whitsundays yet, you don’t know what you’ve been missing. White sands? Check. Vivid blue seas? Check. The finest seafood on earth? Check. Amazing hotels, incredible water sports options, stylish bars, luxury yachts… you get the idea. It’s no wonder that the Whitsundays are quickly becoming a favourite destination for the global elite - it’s the height of luxury, situated in one of the most remote spots of earth.
